Counselling: Individual

Individual counselling is highly personal and unique. People come to counselling for various reasons. Some experience distress due to specific life challenges or trauma, some experience behaviour and thought patterns that negatively impact their lives, and some have experienced loss. Sometimes, they may need support in adjusting to specific life changes, entering a new relationship, getting pregnant, adapting to the arrival of a baby, adjusting to health changes, dealing with a life-threatening illness, caring for someone with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition or navigating grief.
Whatever your reason for coming for counselling, this space allows you to explore and define your challenges, discover your strengths, and make more life-enhancing choices. Counselling is YOUR journey, and for that reason, we will both have work to do and collaboratively decide on the best ways to accomplish your counselling goals.
Sessions last 50 minutes and are scheduled in advance by telephone, email, or at the end of each session. Session fees are payable directly after each session. I am also contracted with all the major medical schemes, so if possible (depending on your plan and benefits), I will also claim directly from them. A card machine is available at the practice.

Counselling: Group

Support groups offer an opportunity to share experiences, learn from one another, and provide emotional support. It gives a sense of community and a realisation that you are not alone, especially when dealing with health-related challenges. People confronted with health-related challenges of end-of-life decisions often experience emotions like fear, anxiety, and sadness, which may leave them feeling isolated and alone. In a supportive environment, such as a group, individuals can openly express these feelings without judgment and experience empathy, understanding, and validation for what they are going through. It also provides a platform for sharing coping strategies and insights in dealing with these challenges. Support groups provide a valuable space for individuals to realise they are not alone in their journey.
I facilitate the following support groups:
-
A face-to-face support group for caregivers of people with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions (Palliative Care)
-
An online support group for women navigating menopause (Perimenopausal Mental Health)
Please email me if you are interested in joining one of these groups.

Palliative Psychosocial Support

Palliative care is not only intended for end-of-life support. Research and client feedback confirm that obtaining palliative support from the moment a diagnosis is made increases the client's quality of life by preventing and relieving pain caused by medical intervention or the condition. It consists of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who provide support focused on improving symptoms, addressing the client's and family's holistic needs, guiding decision-making and keeping the client and their family at the centre. It is about thinking of the client as a person, rather than focusing solely on the treatment or illness. I can either join your existing treatment team or introduce a team I frequently work with, which includes a palliative care doctor and palliative nurses. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to learn more about this service.

Psychometrics: Personal Development Assessment
Growth is integral to being human. We change, grow, and develop throughout our lifetimes. Therefore, it is only natural that many come to a point where they realise they have outgrown their current position or career field. Whether seeking a new challenge, pursuing a long-held passion, or responding to industry changes, reconstructing or adapting one’s career direction is often complicated. Family and financial commitments usually seem insurmountable barriers to growing a career closer aligned to one’s values or interests at that specific point in one's life.
Using the results of a carefully selected battery of psychometric tests and through a process of continuous discussion, we will use this information to analyse your current situation, inventory your skills and interests, and brainstorm potential career directions. We will then develop a strategy to realign your career with your desired goals. Through this process, we will consider your life and career holistically and address each obstacle individually, enabling you to change your career direction in a realistic, sustainable, and responsible way that aligns with your values.
